CFD Pancake Breakfast

Cheyenne Frontier Days Pancake Breakfast is one of the neatest events of the week-long celebration. Each year the pancake breakfast, over three days, serves 100,000 flapjacks to as many as 40,000 people. We rose bright and early to get in line with thousands of other people, and before we knew it, we were at the front of the line getting served pancakes, ham, milk and coffee by Boy Scouts and other incredibly friendly volunteers.
And it is all FREE!!

Bozie

While on our vacay to WY we finally got to meet my brother's boxer, Bozeman. He was Lane's best friend and hoped the whole time that one of the two mess-makers
would drop a morsel of something delicious.

Lane would make big bubbles and Bozie would jump and chase them
then eat 'em!

Ask Again Later...

Lane's favorite toy while at Nan's was the Magic 8 Ball. She would ask it 20 questions a day. Her favorite question was "Is Liv cute?" The M8B always came thru with the right answer!!

Painting Pet Rocks with Nan

There's at least an activity a day while at Nan's! We love it!!

Cheyenne Frontier Days Parade

A great time was had by all at this year's CFD Parade. We saw lots of horses, antique carriages, and pretty Rodeo Queens with really big hair!!
Lane and Dad doing a jig.

Cousins on the curb

Liv looked like a little outlaw in her hat and wouldn't take it off for anyone.
I think she wore it from sun up till sun down!!

Annie

Lane and Mom had a fun ladies day out to see "Annie" at the
Arts Center of the Ozarks.
The highlight of the show for Lane was petting "Sandy".

Colorado or Bust!!!

This summer we, again, endured our 14 hour long trek to see the fam in CO and WY. These pics were taken about 1/2 way. At this point, we were over the early-in-the-trip-excitement, but not yet completely stir crazy.
We were just bored...

Our Besties!!!

Lane and Liv with their best friends, Hanna and Haley, just before they moved to TN.
We miss them terribly and hope to visit soon and often!!

Broadway Bound

So, this summer, Lane participated in a camp at Rogers Little Theater called Broadway Babies for ages 4 and 5. She thought it wasn't properly named and should be called "Broadway Big-girls," but anyway, they practiced singing and dancing to Broadway numbers for two weeks and put on a performance at the end. It was an outstanding experience in every way.
She has officially caught the performing bug!!

Pre-show sweet pose.

Post-show wild-eyed, crazy poses!!

Look out John Travolta--there's a new Broadway star in town!!

Fun Family Day Out

Our whole family could hardly wait for the release of Toy Story 3! We have purchased everything from TS3 t-shirts to popcorn to gummies to mac and cheese and all things in between to prepare for this event. Needless to say, it was a big day for the Ewings!

A sister-love hug at lunch before the show!

Growing Up Too Fast!

I decided to shoot pics of the girls the other morning because I thought they looked cute in their outfits. I didn't anticipate total "Posers!"

Look out New York, because we're Runway Ready!!

On the Blog again...

I was instructed by my wonderful friend, Heidi, just before she cruelly abandoned me for a new life in TN, to start blogging again. I am still working on forgiving her for leaving me and, until then, I will blog...

Children's Village Part Deux

This was a bridge that was moved back and forth using your strength. It was super shaky and was hard to move. Laney loved it and went back and forth and back and forth.

There were manual water pumps here and there and watering cans. The kids loved filling up the cans and watering the nearby gardens.

Children's Village

(I know that a blog is supposed to be a day-to-day thing,
but we did so many fun things on our trip back home,
that I just have to share them!)

While we were in Cheyenne visiting my parents, we went to the Children's Village. This is a new place built almost totally by donations from Cheyenne area residents. Volunteers run it and it is eco-friendly and educational. What a neat place and Laney loved it.
(Liv was at my mom's napping on this trip and mom-of-the-year
forgot the camera when Liv got to visit!)
Love this pic!!

Outdoor puppet show! So fun! Lane had an audience of me, Nan
and some mesmerized preschoolers!
