The Material Girl and Peppy the Preppy

We recently had a "Throw Back to the 80's" ice cream social at Lane's school.

And, we went all out...

Lane had a definite swagger the whole night and informed me the next night that,
"Tonight I want to dress as Lady Gaga."
 I have created a monster!

Livi's first day of pre-K

True story:  When we got home a bee just wouldn't leave her alone.  My neighbor said that the bee thought she was its long lost mother chasing her saying, "Mama!  Mama!"
Their first unit is pond life and frogs so she had to make a lily pad.
Liv and mom went out to lunch before drop off and had soup and
a grilled cheese from a yummy local soup place.
Oh yah, and a cake pop from Starbucks! Yum!

Lane's first day of Kindergarten!

 Kids on our street
See Trixie the ginger bread girl in the background?
She was all decked out and
put together heading to the bus...
Lane rode the bus the first day!!  It was what she was most excited about!!
Mom felt like she lost her baby!  So I followed the bus to greet her as she got off!! :)
When Lane got off the bus I asked how it went and she said, "There was a problem.  Look at Trixie."
Trixie lost the inside black part in her googly eye.  The clear/white part was still intact.  Explain that.
I joked with her teacher that Trixie had a stroke on the bus ride.  Poor Trix...
Mrs. Grauer.  Probably one of the cutest people I have ever seen.  She has a 4 month old baby and was in a post-baby bikini in some pictures on her classroom website.  Hate her..
This is Deegan.  He lives two doors down and is in Lane's class.  They have this Love-Hate thing going on.  His mom says that he NEVER cries and has cried often since meeting Lane.  His mom, Ally says that Lane gives him a run for his money and that he is love-sick.  I told Ally that we would show this picture at their wedding reception slide show.  Problem is, Livi has a major crush on Deegs and tells him all the time that he is handsome!!  Oh Lord!!

There's No Place Like Colorado!!

For years now, I have been begging Brian to stop in Kansas during our horrible car trips back home.
Every single time he said no.
We agreed that when we finally were able to make our final road trip--
the trip that brought us back home for good--we would stop.
And we did!
It was fantastic!!!!!!!

Wind tunnel simulating the wind speeds of a tornado.
Girls are a little unsure (we all were!)
The speed reached over 70 miles per hour.
We about ran over some people coming to a screeching halt to get this picture!  So happy!!!

First Lost Tooth!!

We finally had our first visit from the Tooth Fairy!!

Delaney was so excited she about bounced out of her skin!
She informed me that she didn't think the tooth she lost was her sweet tooth!

Lane got $10 (guess the tooth fairy didn't have any change!) a 50 cent piece,
and a Squinkie Holder!

New Family Members

So, for Easter, I promised Lane she could get a pet.  We agreed on Hermit Crabs.
Hermie and Pinchers (she has definitely earned her name!)
are now proud members of the Ewing family!

Daddy Turns "A young 41"

Daddy turned 41 this year and when the girls ask how old he is he said he is a young 41.
The girls like to pretend that they are our ages when they play and the other day
Liv said she was "a young 41!"

This was the ugliest cake ever.  Dad always wants homemade ones...
It did taste good, though!!
Brian always likes to give out "free spanks" and pretends that he is a robotic spank machine.
(Weird, I know...)

So this year, we made Daddy his very own Spank Machine and spanked him 41 times with it.
 It promptly fell apart...

Benton County Fair 2010

World's largest lemonade with world's largest and prettiest straws! Love it!!!
And, oh yeah, world's grossest pretzel...

City girls.
I had to laugh out loud because we saw some other little girls
doing the same thing.
Apparently, if you're wearing a large bow, you must automatically
plug your nose at the fair...
Hey-ey-ey-yyy, girl! What's that on your head? Looks tasty, can I eat it?

Awwww.... The baby chicks.
Almost got loved to death by Laney.

Purell, here we come!!!!!

Feels Better...

Recently, Liv went to get her well-child check up. She ended up having to get two shots. Later in the day the shots made her feel yucky. Since we had thrown all of our medicines away lately due to the scare, we needed Daddy to go to the store to get some.
He did.
And cookie dough and ice cream, too!! Yay Daddy!!

Fresh, warm chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches! Ooh La La!!!

Miraculously cured!!

Butterfly Pavilion

While on our vacation we visited the Butterfly Pavilion in CO. It was great!
Laney was in complete heaven.
(Mom had a pretty bad case of the eebie-jeebies...)

People-sized spider web!!

Friends

Lane and her friend Olivia came upstairs the other day and announced that they were Fancy Nancy and Mary Poppins. They were filled with smiles!
Love little girls!!!!!!!

Royalty

Nan got the girls these dresses and they love them. Lane was "the queen" and she talked in her best British accent, ordered Livi around and said "dahling" a lot!
